Ayaan describes herself as a classical liberal whose efforts have been strangely rejected by an ideological left. Sam and Ayaan express their mutual frustration at not being able to discuss the negative cultural and social implications of Islamism in a safe space. They agree that the taboo on talking about Islam and sacred text needs to be lifted in order to best help those harmed by dogmatic adherence to the Q’uran including practices of rape, female genital mutilation, child marriages, and honour killings. Ayaan warns that extremist, anti-democratic Islamic practices are on the rise in Europe. Ayaan describes the multi-culturalism experiment as a failure and holds that the best way forward is for the government to protect open discussion and free speech on the facts.
